Who’s next?!

Let’s see. First, there was Avril. I posted about her 3 summers ago before she ever really hit it big. I think i may have even gotten a bunch of people to buy her CD. I remember reading comments from people saying how they wouldn’t have even given her a second look (or listen) if it weren’t for me putting up pictures of her all over my site and essentially promoting her.

Hey,

Thanks for the intro to Avril! It’s nice to hear someone just before they explode, and I just gave her album a listen. Bye bye Britney, say hello to Avril.

I love it when Canadians dominate entertainment media (being Canadian myself, eh?) That’s how Canada secretly controls the world (so, uh, don’t tell anyone.)

Later,
Gus

Hey Psykotik Mullet-Man,

Update your site for Christ’s sake already! Your last posting is 4 days old.

You made me order a Avril Lange cd off of Amazon since I was making a cd order I decided to try it anyway. I am awaiting its arrival. You can tell your new love of your life that your site is responsible for her increased traffic and increased SALES.

🙂

Never actually made any contact with her (i think she’s too punk to visit fubar and leave comments) but i did get to experience what it was like to be her. And what a nightmare that was.

Then there was Lillix. Canadian girl band who went on to have a song on the Freaky Friday soundtrack and to do the opening theme song to Amanda Bynes’ What I Like About You show on the WB. I posted about them 2 years ago before they hit it big. Not as big as Avril, but pretty big nonetheless. And they were actually cool enough to stop by and say thanks (!). Tasha-Ray and Kim both visited fubar and left comments.

Kim was even nice enough to keep in contact through e-mail with me and send pics of the band on the road.

Then there was Jojo. Wrote about her before she got big too. And like the girls from Lillix, she was nice enough to leave a comment too.

Too Much Love:

Bless you Jojo.

And obviously, my biggest claim to date, That Pepsi Girl. Mandy Amano. Made her her first fan blog, made her famous around the world (wide web), got her into Maxim magazine, and eventually onto the Kevin and Bean show on KROQ 106.7; all as a result of a blog that i made.

Oh and it subsequently got me invited to be on the show with her.

How will i ever be able to top all of that. I don’t think it’s even possible.

Anyhow, i’m just writing about all of this as a record to look back on.

On that note, i find it hilarious whenever (stupid) fans stumble upon my old Avril/Lillix/Jojo posts. I got one earlier today from some girl trying to promote some other unknown singer on my Jojo post. Actually it kinda scares me when girls stop by to leave comments about whatever teen celeb i’ve posted about. I can’t help but wonder what they might think once they actually realize what kind of site they’re actually leaving comments on. Not that there’s anything really wrong about this site, but well.. come on, think about it. It is kinda disturbing. Especially if you have no idea about the inner workings of fubar and aren’t aware of the running jokes around here. If i weren’t me, i’d probably think it was creepy too. I rule at being fake creepy.

Which is why i really hope that first time visitors check out the testimonials page to find out what they’re getting themselves into if they choose to follow the site.

Anyhow, as i was saying, i find it hilarious when (stupid) fans leave comments about their favorite celebs on the internet. Especially when they have NO CLUE as to what kind of site they’re on.

Case in point.

  1. I’m up late too. Paydin LoPachin might make it big. Just sayin’. You didn’t hear it from me.

  2. The thing that makes fubar great is all the people, without a clue what this site is all about, leaving comments.

    Just like …me?

  3. As I was discussing with a friend earlier, You have the Midas touch. You can turn nothing into somthing phanominal.

I think you mean gold….instead of phanominal, or phenomenal rather…I think…

I think Justin’s touch is more likely to turn something into bronze. I mean, it’s still pretty decent, but it’s not great or anything. That’s why they call me The Bronze Boy.
