CLICK ON THIS LINK.

It won’t exactly help but it gives you a little insight into some stuff.

Or. You could always like… download Morpheus and maybe download it off the net if they have it…

Waking Life is a great movie. I loved it. It’s just so full of great meaningful dialogue that dealing with the philosophy of everyday life. Hell, you’d probably learn more about philosophy watching that movie that you would taking Philosophy class for a semester.

I have no idea when they’re gonna release it on video and DVD but i personally own a bootleg of it on VCD and it’s one of the best movies indie movies i’ve seen all year. Look out for the director’s next movie. Tape. Starring Ethan Hawke. Who’s practically been in all of Richard Linklater’s movies.

His movies are all pretty good. I have one of them on Laserdisc. Before Sunrise. One of my favorite movies ever. He also directed Slacker and Dazed And Confused. And of course, Waking Life. So check em all out if you haven’t already. Good stuff.

On an unrelated note:

I actually bought 2 DVD’s last night.

  • The Mummy Returns: Collector’s Edition
  • The Fifth Element: Superbit

I should update my DVD list.

  • The ‘funny story’

So i was sitting down at McD’s all by my lonesone last night having dinner. And i’m thinking, “Wow. I haven’t been online in ages”. Then for some reason i thought of Zia and wondered how she’s been doing. Then all of a sudden i get an SMS from Zil. You know… dead Zil.

Then i started thinking about Zia again. Which somehow got me thinking about Stephanie’s boyfriend (!) of all people. Because i remember reading about how Zia first found Steph through some ‘best couple’ site (?) or something which had a picture of Steph and her boyfriend Bron. Anyway so there i am thinking about all my online friends and i’m thinking back to Zil’s SMS. And that got me thinking back to how Zil and i used to SMS all the time but never actually talk on the phone.

So i’m thinking, “Hey… it’s funny. It’s kinda happening with Stephanie too”. We’ve SMSed a coupla times but we’ve never really actually called her up or talked on the phone. Which is kinda dumb because it’s just so easy to do. She’s in the same country, she lives pretty close by(-ish) and hell, she even goes to a college which is literally only like… 3 blocks away or something. Right next to the mall!

It’s literally like this. In this order:

My college, theme park, mall, her college.

3 ‘blocks’ away. All side by side.

Anyway, i leave McD’s and i’m checking out DVD’s only to find nothing really new. So i decide to head back for the dorm. And just as i was on my way out, i see this couple walking, who were also just on their way out. And they looked SO like what Stephanie and her boyfriend looked like in that photo that was on the ‘best couple’ site. I can’t remember what the URL is but she posted it up on her site once.

And i’m thinking, “Eh? Is that Fuzzy?”. And i kept doing double takes at them from a distance. I didn’t really get close enough to really check out whether it was them or not but i’ll be damned if it wasn’t.

So i SMS Fuzzy asking, “Were you just at Pyramid about 3 minutes ago?”

And there i am expecting to get a reply sometime soon.

Then my cellphone rang! She actually called! Which was kind of a shock.

I probably sounded like i was talking out of my ass the whole time. But Steph was on the road at that moment so we didn’t really talk for all that long. Which is good because i seriously can’t talk for shit. I end up literally talking out of my ass after the first 30 seconds or so. I think Zil can attest to that. I told Steph about seeing ‘them’ at the mall. She was all like, “Really?”. I swear, that couple that i saw really did look like Stephanie and Bronson from afar.

Or maybe it was just my eyes.

And so it turned out that it wasn’t them. And that i might be potentially blind. Wish i had a credible second opinion on what i saw but i don’t. And that’s my ‘funny story’ i guess.

Which isn’t really funny at all now that i think about it.

    Ooh aah

So the movie presentation thing went along fine. We were the second group that had to go up. And it was great. The response was actually better than i’d expected. People actually laughed where they were supposed to laugh.

Which is good considering that it’s an action comedy.

I think it’s about time i actually told you all what it’s all about. For those of you who care anyway.

So the movie’s called Bad Boyz: Back In Style (Don’t look at me, i didn’t write the script). It’s actually a sequel to this movie that the director (Moe) made for his film class during his high school years. He wrote and directed it. He showed it to me once. The editing was terrible. Anyway, i’m handling the camerawork and editing on this sequel. And the dubbing, looping, ADR and sound mixing.

I did more than he did actually. =P

So. Tu Slack gets assigned a new partner by Capt. Matt Cha (no i didn’t name the characters either). In comes Jack Knight. Capt. Matt Cha gives them a case to track down the infamous kiddy porn gangster Blue Snake. Jack Knight has a grudge with Blue Snake because Blue Snake killed his dad while his dad was doing some undercover work 9 years ago. Tu Slack doesn’t really like Jack Knight because he’s this ‘bad attitude’ cop. He doesn’t play by the rules you see.

So there’s some Lethal Weapon/Bad Boys shit going on there. Comedy moments. Sharp bitchy dialogue.

The story’s actually pretty mediocre and it’s just your really basic buddy cop movie. They have their differences, the meet some chicks, the bad guy’s henchmen kidnaps Slack and their two respective girlfriends and there’s a 6 minute finale. The much touted and asked about scene in the movie.

I actually showed a rouch cut of the scene to Majid and he leaked it out to one of the other groups and they came up to me asking about the ‘Matrix shots’ in the movie.

Yes. There are some 360 degree Matrix style shots in there. Or so Majid would describe them as anyway. We had a lot of influences from a whole bunch of directors. Namely, in no particular order, Michael Bay (Bad Boys influence), John Woo (slow motion repetitive dual gun play scenes), Guy Ritchie (fast motion + paused character intros), Sam Raimi (weird camera angles), Steven Soderbergh (handheld camerawork), Akira Kurosawa (scene transitions), Alfred Hitchcock (shooting in confined spaces), Quentin Tarantino (liberal usage of swearing), The Wachowski Brothers (the entire fight scene which we shot outdoors at night using Nightshot had a green tint to it making it look even more Matrix-y) and hell… even George Lucas.

We threw in a Star Wars reference towards the end. Think bad guy ending up to be Jack Knight’s (thought to be dead) dad.

Every good movie has to have a Star Wars reference.

A whole lot of influences right there. Some big, some small. But in the end it’s just basically an action comedy with some really inspired moments. It got a whole lot of laughs where it was supposed to be funny. Some of these scenes where i thought nobody would laugh, they actually did. So that was cool.

After we were done with presentation and everthing, a whole bunch of people were like asking ‘how did they do that?’ questions. Mainly about the, again, much touted ‘Matrix’ shots (which i thought weren’t at all very Matrix-y. They were more Guy Ritchie if anything…).

The other movies shown were pretty good in their own way too. 5 movies shown and 3 of them had pretty bad editing. The other movie that had good editing in it (but with less ‘effects’ shots) was done professionally because they took their footage to be edited in some studio. We did the editing ourselves. Actually I did all the editing myself.

It’s a shame we had to cut out like at least five really good dialogue scenes during the post production process. The movies are all only supposed to be at the most 15 minutes long. With a 10 minute presentation to do after. Our first cut ran at about 28 minutes. And that’s with two scenes edited out.
We cut it down to around 23 (or at the most under 25) at the request of our stupid lecturer. Sarificing some really good porno jokes and a lot of character development. Maybe there’ll be a Directors Cut sometime soon. =P

Not that any of you would get to see it.

    But hey.

It’s no big deal really. It’s just a super low budget B grade action comedy buddy movie with some really good editing is all.

It was a good showing. Like i said, it got a better reaction from the audience than i expected. I’d probably say that it was the best if not one of the best movies shown today. The others were really good too. Mostly storywise though. With the exception of that one other movie. Theirs was actually more Matrix-y which is surprising because they only had 2 or 3 effects shots in there. And no 360 shit.

Ours had about 7 or so. Big ones.

Our plot was cliched to the max. But it was a funny movie. Had elements of drama, action, comedy, love, parody, product placement, kiddy porn and it even had the line “I am your father”.

    Movies are great.

    STRESS

Remind me never to be away from the internet for as long as i was ever again anymore.

How long was i gone? 4 days? Seemed like forever.

I bet you thought i quit the site or something.

    Unfortunately, i didn’t.

So… 4 days, 21 e-mails and approximately only 24 hours of total sleeping time so far and here i am. Where the hell have i been? Or rather, what the hell have i been doing?

How about doing non-stop editing day in and day out for the past weekend and a bit?

Remind me never to leave the editing of one’s film project till the last 5 days before it’s actually due to be presented.

    STRESS.

    NO TIME FOR ANYTHING.

    NO TIME TO SMS PEOPLE.

NO TIME TO UPDATE MY SITE.

AND WORST OF ALL, I MISSED OUT ON THE ‘UNVEILING’ OF THESS’ NEW LAYOUT.

    Things i need to do:

  • Finish doing the sound mixing for my film project thing tonight. It’s due to be presented tomorrow at 3 pm.
  • For once, actually post about what my movie’s about. Because i’ve been talking about it on and off and yet never mentioning what it’s actually like. But i’ll tell you this. The editing of the 6 minute climax/fight scene i did WILL get people fucking ‘ooh-ing’ and ‘aah-ing’ tomorrow. I’ll be damned if they don’t. There’s some fucking great Guy Ritchie/John Woo style shots and shit in there. Good God. If i were a girl and i saw that 6 minute climax/fight scene, i’d fuck the guy who edited it just because it was so fucking good.
  • Once i’m done with that, i gonna have to do some last minute studying for this 20 question MCQ that’s coming up this Wednesday for my SOC 334 class (i still don’t really know wat that class is all about).
  • Once i’m done with all my boring school work, i’m gonna have to help Jia Jia a.s.a.p with some website-y stuff. Jia! I’m coming!
  • I probably have a whole lot more that i have to do but for the life of me, i can’t think of what all that other stuff is.
  • Oh yeah. I’m gonna have to reply to all the 21 e-mails i’ve received these past 4 days. I’ll probably post some of them up like tomorrow or something. When i’m free after my movie presentation thing. To everybody who’s reading this who’ve e-mailed me, i’ve been hella busy and i only got to check my mail today. So yeah, i’ll get back to you in some shape or form as soon as possible. Most probably through the site or something so yeah, check back for a reply over here. Because i rarely ever respond to my reader e-mail personally. I’m a bastard like that.
  • I’m also gonna have to start writing better posts than this. Not updating for a coupla days makes you lose your ‘groove’. Not that i had any to begin with though.
  • Post up some really HOT new Christy Chung pics that i’ve just aquired. Yes. You know you wanna them. Christy Chung. PHWOAR.
  • See i told you i have lots more to do.
  • I have to catch up on a lot of blogging. 4 days of other people’s blogs to read. Where will i find the time??
  • My hits have gone to shit. Only 2759 yesterday. That’s fucking pitiful. I need to get it up to my usual 3300+/-. Maybe with those NEW AND REVEALING CHRISTY CHUNG PICTURES i’m gonna post up tomorrow.
  • To Christy Chung’s lawyers: please don’t sue.
  • Erm.
  • I’m sure i have lots of other things to do. Like better things but i can’t really think of anymore right.
  • Wait.
  • Nope. Can’t think of anymore right now.

Ooh. I talked to Stephanie on the phone tonight. Slightly funny story behind that. I’ll talk about it tomorrow.

I have some last minute sound editing work to do! STRESS.

  • Look before you leap

so i met nick from CA today.

i actually im’d him thinking he was thess…it was rather embarassing. i was
making what i thought was a clever comment about what i thought was a post from heretic, by thess.

i thought thess was fucking around with this crackhead girl from WA by saying she was a guy named nick who worked in a book store in cali. i thought that was wet-your-pants funny, because the other girls was crazzier than a shit-house rat, etc. so i im’d who i thought was thess saying “is this nick from the bookstore? did’t we go to high school togeher” thinking i’d make her laugh… but the joke was on me because the orignal post i read was really nick and not thess. anywho. that’s what i get for:

1)trying to impress thess with a clever im
2 being too lazzy to read the bios and stuff on heretic

anyway. thess is pretty cute, in that redhead webcam way. glad you agree about Requiem and the 5 seconds of “ass to ass” (as the old man in the suit so eloquently requests of jennifer connelly).
are you planning on getting a dvd writtable drive? any idea how much blanks are gonna cost (how much will it be to dub dvd’s)

    Cheers
    tim the alpha male
    —————

Actually, the first time i read that post, i thought it was by Thess too.

Only after a few minutes into it did i bother to check who wrote the post. And to my complete and utter horror, it was Nick’s. So all my heterosexual love for that post and it’s author totally went sour because it was directed towards a guy.

You IM-flirting with Nick thinking it was Thess. Me loving Nick post thinking it was Thess.

    Same difference.

What have i learned from this horrific ordeal?

Always check who wrote the post.

    Dum di dum dum dum

No class today. It’s a public holiday here in Malaysia. Deepavali. Or something.

Practically slept through the entire day. Only just woke up like half an hour ago. Had to stay up late last night to start editing the short movie we’re making for our film class project. Damn thing’s due next week and we haven’t even finished shooting.

But it’s no biggie. Only like… one scene left to film and a coupla insert shots we need to shoot. Stupid movie was originally scheduled to take about a week to film. It’s dragged on to like what now? 5 weeks?

    Anyway.

It’s funny. I didn’t think i’d get that many hits for yesterday. Consider the fact that i didn’t really post anything good. But i managed to rake in 3763 of them.

3763 hits from over 2000+ people (90% of them who’re probably just looking for porn). Not so bad if i do say so myself.

Of course, it’s not exactly up to the calibre of the other bigger sites out there but hey, it’s better than than just getting around 80 a day.

(Somewhere, in New Jersey, i hear a grown man crying right now)

    Anyway.

Vicky SMSed me last night telling me how she couldn’t resist getting Spaceballs on DVD. She is evil. Because by buying a DVD herself, it prompted me try and outdo her by buying a DVD myself.

    So i bought 3 DVD’s in retaliation.

I get jealous whenever she gets to buy DVD’s.

  • Swordfish
  • The Animal: Special Edition
  • Tomb Raider: Special Collectors Edition

You may be questioning why i bought The Animal.

    1. I haven’t seen it.
    2. I’m in need of a good ‘guilty pleasure’ movie to watch.
    3. The DVD’s pretty full of extras.
    4. It has Colleen Haskell in it. She’s hella cute.

I want to marry this woman.

I never really watched Survivor. And not even once during it’s second season. So yeah, i practically missed out on the whole Colleen Haskell craze as it were.

She was like one of the more popular contestants on the show wasn’t she? Or so i heard anyway. She’s really cute in The Animal. Very CUTE. Cute cute cute.

    Cute.

    Anyway.

    She’s cute.

    hey.
you poor mouth it alot, but your site is really good. i am ashamed that I only found it while searching for libby hoeller videos. ha!

since you have shitloads of dvds…i wonder what you think about Requiem for a Dream. I think that movie is badass; and the fucking music gives me the chills. directors cut has an extra 5 seconds of nastiness if you haven’t already seen it.

    Cheers,
    Timothy B. Monahan

Told you most people who come here were just looking for porn.

Requiem For A Dream is a GREAT MOVIE. Everybody has to go see that movie. It might even be a life changing experience to watch that masterpiece of a movie. I’ve got the unrated version on DVD and yes, i must say that the 5 seconds worth of nasty ‘ass to ass’ action is definitely worth it. Makes the whole ending of the movie much more sicker to watch.

    Anyway.

    Justin,

What’s up. I’ve been checking out the site quite regularly for the past month or so I guess. I wondered how much it costs to get a plug. I myself charge no less than one million dollars. http://notd.net is so famous that I feel it’s worth it. We’re not famous enough however, because I need your help. If we don’t get plugged by you the world will end. I know this is sudden, and sounds serious, well frankly, it is serious. I’ve been informed by people of the highest powers that the countdown to world destruction has indeed begun. The clock is ticking, can you pull the plug and stop this timebomb? Are you man enough? Are you right for the job? We like to think so. So save the world; plug notd.net.

Looking forward to waking up alive tomorrow,
    Kenny

This e-mail isn’t as clever as the last clever e-mail i got.

    Be more cleverer next time.

    Anyway.

I don’t really know how to end this post so i’m just gonna end it by sticking up another jpeg on the page thus slowing down it’s already slow loading time and purposely doing so because i don’t really know how else to end this post.

    So there.

  • Wow

    I have a lot of DVD’s.

More than what Vicky has that’s for sure.

    Har har.

She should make a DVD list too.
